They Came with Carved Smiles..... to The Cabin at Lantern Hollow
A Family of Jack-O’-Lanterns
Welcome to the woods, where the leaves crunch, the shadows stretch long, and one unusual family takes center stage. Meet the Pumpkin Heads — a delightfully eerie and unforgettable crew who traded their everyday smiles for grins carved in orange. This fall session wasn’t just about portraits; it was about personality. Every pumpkin was hand-picked and carved with intention, reflecting the fun, spooky, sassy spirit of each family member. From the mischievous glint of jagged smiles to the sweet heart-shaped eyes perched atop skeleton leggings, these jack-o’-lanterns brought a whole new meaning to “family resemblance.” Against the backdrop of a weathered wooden cabin tucked into the trees, we played with symmetry, spacing, and light to give these characters room to shine — and haunt. Whether standing stoically in a line of five with arms folded in classic pumpkin-tough-guy style, or leaning casually against a tree with a smirk carved deep into squash, every pose added to the story. This was a session where tradition got tossed like leaves in the wind — where the only rule was to embrace the weird, have fun, and light up the woods with a little Halloween magic. I dare you not to smile.”
